Call for Applications: 2025-2026 WACES Graduate Student Representative
The Graduate Student Representative (GSR) is a one-year appointed position (with the option to run for a second term) on the WACES Executive Board. This leadership role provides a unique opportunity to support and advocate for graduate students and new professionals within WACES and the broader ACES community. The GSR role is a volunteer leadership position that requires an estimated 3-5 hours per month, with additional time commitments leading up to conferences and major events.
Key Responsibilities:
Chair the Graduate Student and New Professionals Committee: Facilitate committee meetings and oversee committee efforts towards student and new professional programming.
Develop events and programming: Organize virtual events such as lunch and learns, workshops, panels, study halls, and social events throughout the academic year for students and new professionals.
Coordinate student events for the 2025 ACES Conference: Organize in-person professional development opportunities and community-building events for students and new professionals.
Student Outreach: Engage with counselor education programs and students in the region to inform the community about WACES and grow student membership.
Advocate for student member needs: Uplift student feedback, concerns, and needs to WACES executive board to advocate for systemic change.
Attend WACES Board meetings: Join monthly virtual meetings and provide updates on student and new professional efforts.
Serve on the ACES Graduate Student Council: Collaborate with other regional and national ACES Grad
